Teen suicide is a terrible but increasingly popular topic in "Everything I Never Told You". (2014) Celeste Ng
Thesis: Ng's book imaginatively addresses the gap in scholarship on the relationship between race, family expectations, and the pressures that can lead to suicide and family disintegration in a teen's life.
There have been multiple articles on teen suicide such as; Cultural Issues, Youth Suicide Preventions in Schools and Communities, and Caught Between Cultures: Identity, Choice and the Hyphenated America that have talked about suicide. However, they haven’t talked about how the tension created with an interracial family in a discriminatory 1960 American setting could fracture both the family and the person and lead to suicide.
